Grades 9-12
In 2019-20, PUSD implemented the High School Three Course Model based on input from science teachers and principals. The High School Three Course Model combines all high school performance expectations of the NGSS into three courses: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Each of the three courses integrates Earth and Space Science (ESS) performance expectations based on their conceptual fit.
9 - 12 Science Graduation Requirements
PUSD 9-12 students are required to complete three years of science (30 credits), which must include one Biological Science and one Physical Science. Students may fulfill the third year of science with an additional Biological Science, Physical Science, or with any course listed under Engineering/Computer/Applied Science.
Each PUSD high school offers various courses to meet each category of the 3-year science requirement.
