Fundraising in PUSD

Authorization to Fundraise

A "Request for Authorization" packet is required every year from PTO, PTA, Booster, Foundation, and other parent organizations in order to raise money for Paramount schools.

The packet includes the following:

  • Organization's information and required signatures
  • Organization's officers for the current school year
  • Fundraising events for the year
  • Bank information
  • Treasurer's report from prior year showing income, expenditures, and ending balance for the current year
  • Certificate of Liability Insurance maintained by the organization for the current year
  • W9 and verification of tax-exempt status

Additional attachments, if necessary:

  • Changes in Organization's governing documents
  • New bank account or modification made to banking permissions
  • Change in state or federal tax-exempt status

As a reminder, organizations may not fundraise until their packet is submitted and approved.

Fundraising Procedures

To fundraise for a PUSD school site, the following procedures must be followed:

  1. Submit the "Request for Authorization" packet to Business Services.
  2. With the Request for Authorization packet approved, complete the “Fundraising Events” form and submit to Business Services for approval.
  3. Obtain district approval to fundraise.
  4. Make your “Use of Facilities” request online through Facilitron if you are holding your fundraiser on District premises. (https://www.facilitron.com/pusd90723)
  5. Hold the fundraiser.
  6. Deposit funds into the non-site organization’s bank account. (For example: deposit funds to a PTA account, not a District or ASB bank account.)
  7. Donate the funds or goods to the school site with the Gifts Grants & Bequests Approval Form. The site will then report the donation to the Board of Education according to the donation procedure and procure goods or services.
      • Donations will not be deposited without an approved “Fundraising Events” form by Business Services.

Fundraising activities may not commence until the authorization packet has been submitted and approved.
