PHS College & Career Fair Inspires Students to Plan for the Future

On Thursday, October 23, 2005, Paramount Unified School District's Educational Services hosted its annual College and Career Fair at Paramount High School’s Senior Campus!

The event welcomed students and families from across the district.  Guests were warmly greeted by our AVID teams and enjoyed a night full of college and career exploration.  PHS CTE students and teachers showcased their pathways and demonstrated the skills they are learning in their pathways.

Students enjoyed the opportunity to engage in face-to-face conversations with college and career representatives.  As families and their students walked through the various booths and presentations, families explored a wide range of educational and career pathways—from college admissions and financial aid options to vocational training programs and industry-specific career tracks. For many families, this gathering represented more than just an informational fair—it was a deeply emotional moment filled with hope, pride, and renewed optimism. Parents and guardians saw tangible opportunities for their children that may not have been available to previous generations, sparking conversations about long-term goals and the steps needed to achieve them. The presence of community leaders, educators, and industry professionals added credibility and encouragement, reinforcing the message that success is attainable and support is available.

For students, especially those who had not yet considered their future in concrete terms, the fair served as a powerful catalyst. Interactive exhibits, hands-on demonstrations, and one-on-one guidance helped them visualize how college degrees, certifications, apprenticeships, and other pathways could align with their personal interests and aspirations. Many left with a clearer sense of direction and a newfound confidence in their ability to pursue meaningful goals.

Overall, the event was both inspiring and transformative. It strengthened the bond between families and their educational communities, empowered students to dream bigger, and equipped everyone with the tools and knowledge to begin charting a purposeful path toward future success.
