Paramount Unified Prepares New Leaders for the 2025-26 School Year

This week, Paramount Unified School District launched a powerful four-day Bootcamp dedicated to preparing newly selected principals and assistant principals for success in the 2025–26 school year.

Hosted by district leadership and attended by Superintendent Dr. Joshua Lightle, the bootcamp immersed new site leaders in the essential systems, processes, and resources that guide high-quality school operations. Departments including Educational Services, Pupil Services, Research and Assessment, and Human Resources presented practical, hands-on guidance to ensure administrators are well-prepared to lead with clarity, purpose, and support.

Participants explored everything from creating a safe and inclusive school climate to leading instructional excellence and monitoring student progress across academics, fitness, and language development. Sessions focused on helping leaders define not just what to do, but how to do it—and most importantly, who to call for support along the way.

“The foundation of a successful school year is built long before students walk through the doors,” said Dr. Lightle. “This week ensures our new administrators are equipped to cultivate environments where students, staff, and families feel connected, inspired, and ready to thrive.”

Aligned with Paramount Unified’s commitment to innovation, equity, and student empowerment, the bootcamp supports the district’s mission to foster safe, inclusive campuses that promote college, career, and life readiness. Through collaboration and continued professional learning, these new leaders are now ready to shape welcoming school cultures where students and staff want to be—every single day.
