Alondra Middle School Dolphins Celebrate Promotion with Heart and Purpose

Parents and families packed the Alondra Middle School Amphitheater to celebrate a momentous milestone: the promotion of over 250 eighth graders as they officially transitioned from middle school to high school. Cheers and applause echoed through the outdoor venue as students were called by name and welcomed to the stage—each dolphin stepping forward with pride.

The morning began with a flag salute led by Chloe Dominguez, followed by a warm and inspiring message from Principal Dr. Andrea Nuno. The heart of the ceremony came through student reflections that captured the spirit of the Alondra experience. Ta’Lia Johnson opened with “Heart of the Dolphin,” a tribute to the friendships and resilience that defined their years together. Giovanny Salcedo moved the audience with “Gratitude in Every Step: Lessons That Lead Us Forward,” and Jazlyn Perez closed with “Swimming Forward: A Dolphin’s Journey Through Alondra,” highlighting growth, perseverance, and unity.

While students wore formal attire instead of caps and gowns, the event held the dignity and excitement of a traditional graduation. Principal Nuno reminded students to carry their curiosity, leadership, and passion into high school—whether at Paramount High School or Odyssey STEM Academy.

Alondra’s strong music, arts, STEM, and sports programs have helped shape confident and capable learners. The ceremony was a true reflection of Paramount Unified’s core values: a love of learning, inclusivity, and high expectations for all.
