Paramount 5th Graders Explore Science and Independence Through ELOP Opportunities

Paramount Unified School District is proud to spotlight the exceptional experiences made possible through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP), which provides students with enriching, hands-on learning beyond the traditional school day.

This weekend, a group of our fifth-grade students will embark on an unforgettable adventure to the Pali Institute, a renowned outdoor science camp nestled in the San Bernardino Mountains. Designed for fifth-grade learners, the Pali experience combines science, leadership, and outdoor education in a fun, engaging environment. Students will participate in activities such as environmental science labs, team-building challenges, and outdoor exploration—all designed to foster curiosity, confidence, and collaboration.

For many students, this marks their first time away from home, offering a valuable opportunity to develop independence and build community alongside their peers.

ELOP continues to open doors for Paramount students—providing academic support, enrichment activities, and unique experiences like Pali Institute that help students grow as learners and leaders.
