Paramount Unified Declares Schools as Safe Places for All

On March 12, 2025, the Paramount Unified School District (PUSD) Board of Education adopted Resolution 24-51, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring all students, staff, and families feel safe, valued, and included, regardless of gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation.

Key Commitments and Actions:

  • Safe and Supportive Schools – PUSD prohibits discrimination, bullying, and harassment based on gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation. Schools are designated as safe spaces where students can learn and seek support without fear.
  • Anti-Bullying Enforcement – The District upholds strict policies for reporting and addressing bullying while protecting students from retaliation.
  • Inclusive Curriculum – Schools will integrate LGBTQ+ contributions into curricula, ensure inclusive health and sex education, and provide diverse perspectives in school libraries.
  • Widespread Awareness – The resolution will be posted at all school sites and distributed in English and Spanish to staff, students, and parents.
