Every Day Counts!

Research shows that going to school every day is crucial for future success. Students who attend school regularly not only get better grades but also develop important life skills, like discipline and good health habits.

Here are some key reasons why attendance matters:

1. **Better Grades**: Students who show up to school consistently tend to do better academically. This starts in kindergarten, where missing school can lead to lower performance in later grades.

2. **Graduating High School**: Students who miss a lot of school are more likely to drop out. How often a child attends school in their early years can predict their chances of finishing high school.

3. **Long-term Success**: Regular attendance is linked to higher chances of going to college and finishing a degree. College graduates often have better health and live longer than those who don’t graduate from high school.

4. **Health and Well-being**: Students with poor attendance are at a higher risk for unhealthy behaviors and long-term health issues.

In our school community, we celebrate the hard work of dedicated students: fifth grader Sabrina, seventh grader Emma, eighth grader Linsey, ninth grader Dylan, eleventh grader Christian, and especially our twelfth grader, who has achieved perfect attendance since kindergarten. Their success shows how important regular attendance is.

When we talked to these students, one common theme stood out: parents play a big role in encouraging daily school attendance. When parents make attendance a priority, children are more likely to succeed.

In summary, making school attendance a priority not only helps students do better in school but also sets them up for future success. It’s important for parents and teachers to work together to support this habit, helping every student reach their full potential.
