We are thrilled to announce that our Paramount MESA students from Hollydale school have clinched the top spot in the prestigious International Space Station competition!
In an exciting challenge organized by NASA, MIT and the School of Engineering at Cal State Long Beach, middle school students from all over the nation had the opportunity to showcase their coding skills through the Zero Robotics program. Our Hollydale team, guided by Christine Bakkers and Zamboni teacher Edie Cabral, took this challenge to new heights!
Over the summer, our students mastered a specialized coding language to control a robotic satellite on the ISS. After weeks of coding, testing, and refining their skills, their hard work paid off when they uploaded their code for the final contest on July 31.
In an epic showdown, their code proved flawless in zero gravity, and our Hollydale team soared to victory with a perfect satellite performance!
A huge congratulations to our MESA students and their dedicated advisors for this outstanding achievement!
Want to join the next generation of space explorers? The MESA program is open to all students from grades 6-12. Contact the MESA teacher/advisors at your PUSD middle or high school campus for more info.
