Dear Parents and Families,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year - a school year that will be unique as we open our virtual doors this week. This has been a challenging summer for everyone with continuous changes at the County and State levels, but I am confident in the strong commitment and ability of our teachers and staff members to serve our students in this learning environment.
We are happy to report that thanks to the support of our Board of Education all students within the district will receive Chromebooks. Expanding our one-to-one technology initiative to include TK through 2nd grade will mean that all students will have live interaction, synchronous and asynchronous instruction, and support.
Parent technology training is planned and underway beginning with our TK-2nd grade parents. This training will continue throughout the year on various topics of interest to help you support your students. The support for technology at the district office will continue as a free service to help with computer malfunctions. Additionally, we have expanded our nutrition services for Grab and Go Meals to include more school locations and times that will serve working families.
We are partnering with the City of Paramount and they are offering low cost fee-based daycare services on school sites for parents that work and want these services for their students.
Although the district is working remotely, please continue to call the district office and/or schools, so we can assist you.
Also, please consider supporting our PTA and other school organizations that will reach out to you. Connecting with these organization along with your students’ teachers, principals, counselors, and support personnel is critical to ensure a high quality, public school education in the PUSD.

Estimados Padres y Familias,
Bienvenidos al año escolar 2020-2021, un año escolar que será único al abrir nuestras puertas virtuales esta semana. Este ha sido un verano desafiante para todos con cambios continuos en los niveles del Condado y del Estado, pero confío en el firme compromiso y capacidad de nuestros maestros y miembros del personal para servir a nuestros estudiantes en este entorno de aprendizaje.
Nos complace informarles que gracias al apoyo de nuestra Mesa Directiva Gubernamental de Educación todos los estudiantes dentro del Distrito recibirán Chromebooks. Ampliamos nuestra iniciativa tecnológica para incluir los grados desde el TK a segundo. Esto significa que todos los estudiantes tendrán interacción en vivo, instrucción sincrónica y asincrónica, y apoyo.
La capacitación en tecnología para padres está planeada y en marcha para nuestros padres de TK a segundo grados. Esta formación continuará durante todo el año en varios temas de interés para ayudarle a apoyar a sus estudiantes. El apoyo de tecnología en la oficina del Distrito continuará como un servicio gratuito para ayudar con la posibilidad del mal funcionamiento de las computadoras. Además, hemos ampliado nuestros servicios de nutrición para comidas “Tome y Lleve” que incluye más ubicaciones escolares y horarios que servirán a las familias que trabajan.
Nos asociamos con la ciudad de Paramount y están ofreciendo servicios de guardería de bajo costo basados en tarifas en los sitios escolares para los padres que trabajan y quieren estos servicios para sus estudiantes.
Aunque el Distrito está trabajando de forma remota, por favor continúe llamando a la oficina del Distrito y/o a las escuelas, estamos a su servicio cuando nos necesiten.
Además, considere apoyar a nuestro PTA y otras organizaciones escolares que se comunicarán con ustedes. Conectarse con organizaciones escolares junto con los maestros, directores, consejeros y personal de apoyo de sus estudiantes es fundamental para garantizar una educación escolar pública de alta calidad en Paramount USD.
