Odyssey STEM Academy – Michelle Pacheco
Michelle Pacheco is a Senior at Odyssey STEM Academy and has served her school community as a member of ASB for the four years of high school. This year, she serves as the ASB President, and Michelle is proud to represent her fellow scholars in designing activities to engage everyone throughout the school year. Her inspiration is her parents who have taught her to be positive, caring and determined in all she does, which shows in how she interacts with her peers and advisors in and outside of school. Michelle is balancing her AP schedule, ASB and being the Vice President of the TreeHugger club which volunteers in the City of Lakewood with beautification projects in the parks. Her high school goal like other seniors is to graduate, work hard, and enjoy her last year with the Class of 2024. Her post-secondary goal is to attend California State University, Long Beach and pursue a career in education. Michelle enjoys helping others to learn in her classes and dreams of one day being a middle school teacher. Beyond her studies, Michelle serves as worship leader for the youth of Emmanuel Reformed Church about faith and will start teaching piano this fall. Michelle strives to serve Odyssey STEM Academy with her parents’ support and faith by remembering to remain hopeful, patient, and being constant in all things she does. Michelle went through a candidate nomination process and was selected by her peers.
Paramount High School – Senior – Janelle Cruz
Janelle Cruz is a senior at Paramount High School and a 4-year member of ASB. She was elected by her peers to be the ASB Treasurer. She is currently enjoying the CTE pathway of Sports Medicine. She has 2 siblings, one is a college graduate from CSULB and a former pirate, and her younger brother is a currently a sophomore at PHS.
