CORE CONTENT CURRICULUM

Students in Paramount Unified School District students will be provided daily instruction that is standards-based, relevant, personalized, and rigorous. To this end, the PUSD curricular program-of-study follows instructional standards guided by the State of California and adopts resources that are determined as high quality by the Department of Education.

In order to adapt to the demands of both at-home and in-person learning, our standards-based activities are provided by our classroom teachers on our digital learning management system- Schoology (and Alt-School, Odyssey) and along with many other classroom resources, can be found on our single-sign-on dashboard: ClassLink.

In 2014, Paramount Unified School District adopted the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) system in an effort to help prepare our students for college and beyond. Currently, AVID is being applied across the district throughout our various elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools, alike. With the adoption of the AVID system, we aim to apply best practices across content areas and support students' critical thinking through writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading (WICOR).
