Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

The mission of the Paramount Unified School District is to ensure learning and success for each student by providing a quality education. At the Community Day School this means success in academics, and in other areas as well. Our focus is to provide students who have made negative choices with the skills they need to return to, and thrive at, the school of their choice including Paramount High School, West Campus, Buena Vista, or one of the excellent Paramount USD middle schools. Though our students have narrowed their own options by the choices that got them here, they all have the potential to regain those options by taking responsibility for their own actions.

In the case of CDS students this may mean helping them see the importance of regular attendance and timeliness. It might mean frequent contact with community agencies, counselors, and service organizations. We have assembled a group of dedicated teachers and staff that believes that every one of our students can learn to make good decisions for themselves. We also believe it is our obligation to overtly teach them how to behave and adapt appropriately to a variety of situations.

We are proud of the students who successfully exit our program, and continue to feel encouraged aboutthe gains made by those who are here.
