How to Use Your WebLockers

I:  What it is:
WebLockers is a private digital storage locker for your school data files.  It is a place where you can store your files in your own individual folders (up to 100 MB), download assignments that are used in class, and upload your homework after it is complete.  It also has a personal calendar, and a school-wide message board.  You can access it from any internet-connected computer by going to http://paramount.schoolweblockers.com/.

II: How to log on your first time:
Get onto the internet and go to http://paramount.schoolweblockers.com.
You should see the Paramount Web Lockers sign-in page.  Sign in as follows:
In the Login Name box put the first letter of your first name, followed by the first four letters of your last name, then your 10-digit student ID number.  DO NOT SKIP SPACES.
Example: John Smith, ID number 0123456789
Login:               jsmit0123456789
Password:         jsmit0123456789
In the Password box, put the exact same thing as you did in the Login Name box.
Push the Login and you should have access to Paramount Web Lockers.
You can change your Login Name and Password to something easy for you to remember by clicking on My Profile.  You can change them both, but make sure that both are easy to remember for later use.  If you forget your password, you will need to see your teacher.  Don’t ever tell anyone your login and password!

III:  WebLockers functions:
Home Directory:  Your personal folder—only you can see what is inside.  You can create your own sub-directories to organize your own work.  Data files and school work only, no executables, games or non-school files.  The system is monitored by WebLockers system administrators as well as school administrators.
You may store files here that you would like to access from other Internet connected computers.  Save any data files that are appropriate, but make sure that the place that you are going to use the file again has the same program.  For instance, MS Word is common to most school computers, but if you don’t have it on your home computer, save your work as a plain text (.txt) file or Rich Text Format (.rtf) file instead of a Word document (.doc).

IV:  Class Directories:
Get Assignments Folder: Find resources and pick up your assignments here.  Any item that the teacher has to share with you can be downloaded from here.
Turn-in Homework Folder: Turn in completed homework here.  This is not a storage location. Files uploaded here will be locked once the teacher views them.

V:  Assessments:
Your teacher can grade and make comments on your homework, and you can reply back.  (After Assessments are made, the file is moved to the “Graded Homework” folder.)

VI: Public Message Boards:
Use as you want, but remember, every message is public, your name is stamped on each message, what you write is logged and monitored by the district. Keep all postings relevant to school work and appropriate.

VII:  Teacher Talk Message Boards:
Each teacher has a personal message board. If they enable it, a “Talk” button will appear next to their class listing. This board is accessible by the teacher and all that teacher’s current students.
