Emergency Information

For the protection of a student’s health and welfare, the parents or legal guardians of each pupil are required to complete the school “emergency card” and return it to school as soon as possible. Any change of address or telephone number is to be reported immediately after the change has taken place. Students will be released only to persons designated on the emergency card. This card is vitally important. Please fill in completely.

Passes

Any student who is out of class during class time must have in his/her possession a pass excusing the student from class. You are responsible to ask for the hall pass, and show this pass upon request.

Closed Campus Policy

Paramount High School West Campus is a “Closed Campus.” All visitors must report to the office. Students are not allowed to bring guests during the school day.

Off Campus Passes

Students leaving campus during the school day must obtain an off campus pass from the Information Desk. When applying for an off campus pass, you must present a note from your parents or guardians to the Information Desk before 8:00 A.M. Also, be sure to check out with the Information Desk before you leave campus. Failure to follow the proper procedures will be considered an unexcused absence.

Student I.D. Cards

Students will be provided a photo I.D. card at no charge. The cards must be carried during school hours and at all after school events for identification purposes. I.D. cards must be given to school personnel upon request. I.D. cards are used for textbook and library book checkout and to attend after school activities. There is a $5.00 charge to replace the card. Failure to have an I.D. card or altering an I.D. card may result in a discipline action.

Gum/Sunflower Seeds/Food

Gum chewing and eating sunflower seeds are not allowed on campus. The items are messy and all students need to keep our campus clean. Food and drinks are not allowed in the classrooms.

Telephone Use

The office phone is a business phone and students will not be allowed to use it for personal calls. Office personnel will make a call for a student in an emergency situation (poor planning does not constitute an emergency). Please make appropriate arrangements ahead of time.

Textbooks

Each student will be issued textbooks and is expected to cover them. Parents are responsible for the cost of lost or damaged books and materials. Students will need their ID cards to check out textbooks.

Bikes and Skateboards

Bikes are to be locked in the bike pen before school. Students who ride bicycles are required by law to wear a helmet. The school will not assume liability for losses. Bikes and skateboards are not to be ridden on campus. If anyone rides a bike or skateboard on campus, the bike or skateboard may be confiscated.

Bus Regulations

Riding the bus is a privilege granted to students. Improper conduct while riding the bus will lead to disciplinary action and the possibility that the privilege will be denied. Students are to ride only the buses to which they are assigned and are not to invite non-students to ride school buses. A bus pass and school I.D. must be shown upon request.
