PUSD Fall Instruction Model

For the start of the 2020-2021 school year, the Paramount Unified School District Board of Education has determined that parents will be able to choose one of two instructional models for their students.  This was discussed in detail at a special meeting on July 1, 2020.  To review the presentation that was shared with the Board, please click here.  To watch the meeting, please click here.

Blended Learning: Default Selection

The default model for all students is Blended Learning.  This means Blended Learning will be assigned to your student unless you select Distance Learning.  Here are the key details for Blended Learning:

  • Students will attend school according to a regular schedule two times each week.
  • The days that students will be in school will be either Monday/Wednesday or  Tuesday/Thursday
  • On days students are not in school, their learning will continue online. During this time, teachers will assign work for students to complete and will monitor their progress.

IF YOU  CHOOSE BLENDED LEARNING FOR YOUR STUDENT(S), THERE IS NOTHING MORE YOU NEED TO DO.  Schools will notify students and families of their official schedules at a later date.

NOTE:  Accommodations can be made for families that must request specific days for their student(s) to attend school if the family has more than one student enrolled in any PUSD school or a significant hardship.  If you need your student to attend specific days of the week, you need to should complete this form for EACH student in your family who is enrolled in a PUSD school.

  • Teachers will provide lessons virtually (on line) on a regular basis.
  • Students in grades K-8 will taught by a PUSD teacher and will learn content required for their grade; students with IEPs will …...

  • PHS, PHS West, and CDS students who select this option will take coursework through an online program called Edgenuity, and a credentialed teacher will be assigned to monitor their progress.
