"We are a top achieving STAR School as the stupendous API of 832 on the State Test serves as our testimonial. 2010-2011 is already barreling along for students and staff here at Gaines School. Students are serious about their academic learning and are achieving at benchmark and challenge levels of mastery in regards to the essential standards for English-Language Arts and Mathematics.  We as a staff and our students are proud recipients of the California Distiguished School Award which was bestowed upon us in June of 2010. The students are also blossoming into wonderful, responsible and respectful young citizens as they work through the Six Pillars of Character Counts both co-operatively in the classroom as well as competitively and congenially out on the campus.  The teachers are highly qualified and dedicated to students being successful academically and personally.  Parents are generous and supportive of all school programs and activities.  The business community has noted the tremendous concerted efforts and academic gain our school has made by recognizing us as an Honor Roll Recipient for 2007 and then again for 2009. We continue to strive as an exemplary Title I Achieving School.
